About Shadi Dress

Shadi Dress is an online Pakistani fashion retailer working with customers across the United Kingdom. We do two separate things, and it helps to know which one you are buying. We make custom bridal wear from scratch, cut to one person’s measurements. We also sell branded Pakistani wedding guest outfits, stitched by our own team before they leave us. We have made bridal wear since 2013, and more than 20,000 satisfied customers have ordered from us. The company was registered in the United Kingdom in 2021.

Ordering a wedding outfit from another continent asks a lot of a customer. You pay before the garment exists. You cannot feel the fabric or try anything on, and the date does not move. Most of what follows explains how we deal with that, because a page of adjectives would tell you nothing useful.

What we sell, and how the two differ

Our bridal wear is designer-inspired and custom-produced. You choose a look, either from our catalogue or from a reference image you send us, and we build it to your measurements and your approved specifications. Colour, fabric, embroidery density, neckline, sleeves, shirt length, dupatta, veil and coverage are all open to discussion before production starts. Nothing is pulled off a shelf. The dress does not exist until the order is placed.

Wedding guest outfits work differently. These begin as original branded unstitched fabric bought directly from Pakistani labels, and we keep a purchase record for every article. Our team then stitches that fabric into a finished outfit, either in a standard size or to your own measurements. The original colour and embroidery stay exactly as the brand made them. We do not redesign a branded article, and we do not claim to have woven or embroidered the fabric ourselves.

How a bridal order runs

The sequence is the same whether the design comes from our catalogue or from a photograph you found elsewhere.

1. You send the design, the event it is for, and your date. If it is a reference image, we review feasibility first and quote it separately.
2. We agree the specification with you: fabric, embroidery, silhouette, coverage, and any change you want from the original look.
3. You submit your measurements. Anything else we need should reach us within about a week, because a delay at this stage moves the finish date.
4. Production begins. Fabric details, embroidery samples, progress photographs and close-up videos are available whenever you ask for them.
5. The finished dress goes through quality control and is filmed before it is packed.

Updates come on request rather than automatically, so ask as often as you like. Brides who raise a concern in week three end up happier than brides who wait until the parcel arrives, and we would much rather hear from you early.

Where the work is done

Production runs through our own network of more than 25 workshops in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with close to 200 people working across them. Tailoring and embroidery are handled in-house rather than farmed out to a marketplace, and each workshop is organised into separate departments for stitching, embroidery, finishing and quality control. That structure is the reason a neckline change or a coverage request can be taken mid-order and still leave one team accountable for the result.

What gets checked before anything is packed

Every bridal order goes through stage-by-stage quality control rather than one inspection at the end. We check the measurements against what you submitted, then the stitching, the embroidery, the colour, every included piece and the finishing. A final internal video is recorded for each completed bridal dress. For wedding guest outfits, a complete pre-shipment video is available on request, and a feasible correction can still be made at that point.

Things we will not tell you

A bridal dress made by us is inspired by a designer’s work. It is not that designer’s product. We do not use their label, their logo, their tags or their packaging, and we have no affiliation with them. Where a design is closely associated with a name, we write “inspired by” and leave it at that.

We also avoid the word identical. A custom piece is recreated as closely as is reasonably possible from an approved reference and an agreed specification, and handwork carries small variations by its nature. On the guest-wear side, we buy branded fabric on the open market. We are not an authorised stockist of those labels and we do not describe ourselves as one.

Who we make clothes for

Most of our customers are Pakistani brides living in the United Kingdom, along with Indian Muslim and other South Asian brides planning a wedding here. Behind them come the wedding guests: sisters, mothers, bridesmaids and cousins looking for something to wear to a Nikkah, a Baraat, a Mehndi, a Walima, a reception or Eid. The two groups need different things from us, which is why the site is built around that split rather than one long clothing catalogue.
