Bright red, deep red or maroon

Start with the time and place of your baraat. Bright red looks clear and celebratory in daylight or a brightly lit hall, and it photographs vividly. Deep red is a shade darker and copes better with warm indoor lighting, which can push some bright reds towards orange. Maroon, wine and burgundy sit at the dark end: they look richest at an evening event, especially in winter, and pair naturally with antique gold. Rust gives a warmer, brown-red alternative.

Choosing the colour of the work

The metal tone of the embroidery changes a red lehenga as much as the fabric does. Bright gold zari and dabka give the classic festive look; antique gold is matt and slightly brown, which suits maroon and polki or kundan jewellery; copper warms a deep red and reads more modern. Can I order a red design in maroon, or the other way round?

Yes, where the fabric and embroidery allow it. Colour changes are part of Full Custom Design for every bridal design: tell us the shade before you order and we confirm it with you, with any added cost agreed first. While it is being made, you can ask for progress photos and close-up videos to check the colour.

How early should I order?

Normal Delivery is free and takes up to 3 months; Rush Delivery (£59) takes up to 30 calendar days and Super Rush Delivery (£199) up to 14. Each period starts the day after you order and covers stitching and shipping, so count back from the date and leave a few days spare. European addresses get the same times, with the delivery charge shown at checkout.

What should the groom wear with a red bridal lehenga?
