Farshi Shalwar Kameez, the Shalwar That Reaches the Floor
A farshi shalwar is cut so wide and long that its hem sweeps the floor, and unlike a gharara it has no gathered knee seam: the fullness falls in soft folds from waist to feet. Wear it under a short kameez to show the volume, or a knee-length one to cover more. Shadi Dress stitches every suit in its own workshops once you order, in Small to Extra Large or Custom Size, and the height you give without sandals sets where the hem lands. Pick a design and your size, then order on the product page.

How it differs from the other floor-length cuts
- Farshi shalwar: two wide legs gathered at the waist, with no knee seam, the festive and guest version of the floor-length look.
- Farshi gharara: fitted to the knee, then flared from a gathered joint to the floor; see our floor-length bridal ghararas.
- Farshi lehenga: one full skirt that sweeps the floor, usually under a long shirt; see our farshi lehengas for brides.
Choosing the kameez
A short kameez that ends at the hip lets the width of the shalwar show and keeps the outfit light and playful. A kameez to the knee or calf covers more and calms the volume, a good choice for a nikkah guest or an older relative. Keep the dupatta light, in chiffon or net, so it does not compete with the hem.
Getting the hem right
Decide on your shoes before you order: heels lift the hem, flats let it pool. A hem that just skims the floor is easier on stairs and on the dance floor than one that gathers around your feet. With Customised Size, send the length you want from waist to floor in the shoes you will wear; our team contacts you after you order to confirm the measurements.
